4-cavity double-sided gripper for contact insertion and part removal
A dedicated gripper has been developed to automate the process of injection molding battery covers, with an integrated function for contact insertion and part removal.
The gripper operates within a 4-cavity mold, where four parts are produced in each cycle.

The design combines two functions: contact insertion and part removal.
On the first side, parallel grippers are used to pick up the positive (+) and negative (–) contacts from a fixture and insert them into the fixed side of the mold. The mechanism ensures repeatable positioning and stable insertion prior to mold closing.
On the other side, specially designed fingers are used to remove parts from the moving side of the mold. The gripping geometry enables reliable removal without deforming the parts.
Integrating both functions into a single gripper reduces cycle time, lowers the number of manipulation axes, and increases process robustness. The design is modular and adaptable to various applications.
