The total length of the entire arch structure is 65 metres, and its function will be to separate the two traffic directions on the bridge.
The arrival of the structure in Celje marks an important milestone in the construction of the new bridge, which is considered one of the city’s major infrastructure projects. In the coming weeks, demanding assembly works and the installation of the steel structure at the planned location above the Savinja River will follow.
Once completed, the new Polule Bridge will improve traffic flow, increase safety for all road users, and provide a better connection between the left and right banks of the Savinja River. An important part of the project is also improved flood protection, as the new infrastructure will be better adapted to high water levels and the river’s flow capacity. The project also includes the development of accompanying transport infrastructure, pedestrian and cycling areas, and connections to the existing road network.
